He almost gets it. Like, he understands he is getting more than 60k worth of labour but in the most sexist way possible.

And the power / manipulation male can have over you. If you get mad, or get treated bad, you need to stress about him possible tsking away things your would have of you were single. A home, your own money, food,

He never said he was paying her money he is just covering her expenses much of which he would have to cover for himself anyway

His $60,000 a year is only half the bill. If she'd been saving 15% of that salary, five years out of work leaves roughly $390,000 missing at retirement, assuming 7% returns and 30 more years to grow.

For this to make ANY sense, she would have to be his paid employee for 60k annually and I have a sneaky suspicion that’s not what he’s proposing.

I dated a man like this in my mid 20s. He said he made enough for both of us so I could be a stay at home girlfriend. I stayed until I graduated, got a job and then turned down his proposal and moved on.
Honestly, the scariest thing a woman can do is become financially dependent on a man like this. They love you when you’re convenient and have no voice. The moment you develop your own opinions and stand up for yourself they resent you. Then money becomes a tool for control. By your 30s, you could be trapped in an abusive relationship or abandoned for a younger woman with no voice and left with nothing. Crazy thing is, they will repeat the same cycle until they are old and unloveable lol

I love that it costs HIM $60k when it’s HER giving up her income. Be so for real. When I was off on Mat leave - I craved identity and adult interaction outside of the house and was so jealous of my husband getting autonomous time.

Even if a man paid you that directly and put money into your retirement fund, you're STILL fucked because, as you said, you have no resume when the relationship ends and no earning power. Unless a man can literally transfer you enough money for the rest of your life at the start of the relationship, so you're with him as a choice and can never become destitute, you are not safe.

That’s a fair assessment, problem is men have come to expect this without paying 60k a year, you have to work 40 plus hours a week and raise a child by yourself. Either way your doomed

He wouldn’t be able to get a chef, housekeeper, house manager, and s-worker for $60K a year…so it’s a good deal for him, but terrible for her

He wont be paying her $60k a year, he will allow her to exist in a home that belongs to him, possibly drive a car that is also in his name, she will get just enough of a budget to shop for the food he expects and he will grow to resent her beauty expenses and cut that off eventually. She will leave with nothing.

I also hate this, haha but I was a SAHM mum/wife and I asked my husband for $1000 to add to my super while I wasn’t working, and he laughed in my face…. Which was a much more horrific experience. But yes I do not advise this
