@loganinthefuture: When the anti-hype robotics guy says “wow” I pay attention. One prompt. No instructions on how to use the robot. It figured out the brush, the pressure, the canvas and got better with every attempt. Thus is why everyone is talking about physical AI. #robotics #ai #physicalAI
This just didn't happen with a one-shot prompt, sorry

I do not understand how anyone could think this is a good idea. we do not want robots that can do human jobs. we do not want robots that can replace the humanities. we do not want robots that can do the arts. those are the world of humans that's what makes being a human worthwhile

Old robotics engineer here as well; I am so excited to see in my lifetime, the robotic interfaces we were promised decades ago!

Bad take. Robotics is a hardware problem not a software problem. The software for robotics has essentially been solved for years with all the advancements in machine learning. The current hardware state of robotics is what’s holding it back and that will remain unsolved for at least another decade. Content like this makes this common error.

I keep telling people that no jobs are safe from ai, not even blue collar jobs. It may take a couple more years for the takeover but it’s coming. In the next 10 years there will be no job market. We are absolutely screwed.

emm. it still gets tripped up with counting and such. I just recently had it create a document with 25 pages and the page numbers jump around. like page 13 then page 16. then page 15. its fun stuff. but those kinda issues are inherent to the tech

the math problem thing was because they stole work from mathematicians and then spent millions of dollars on the problem. it still has problems with "count Rs in strawberries" type problems.

Except, it's not learning. It just has more content in its prompt window.

This is how robots are trained. But it's too slow to perform the task manually, so they do it through simulation.

I wonder why it always focuses on the background first. it starts with the sky. with humans we usually start with the focal point, so the bridge in this case. maybe the ai sees the world in a negative space perspective? idk.
