Went for an MRI. When I signed in, I asked about the co pay. The person said it was high, gave me the amount and asked if I wanted to wait to pay it and, like you, I said no and paid it up front. I still have other debt that I'm paying down but wasn't about to add to it. Thats the beauty of keeping an emergency fund.

I am so grateful for the blessings God has given me. I have prayed and worked towards getting out of debt and following a path honoring His calling and my heart’s desires. I have not however had Him unburden me from debt. It’s tough.

I am not sure about all hospitals but my local hospital will give 50% off of hospital services if you pay up front. They don’t tell you that, they say they’ll give 20%, but if you ask for 50% they will say yes. That is not all hospitals, and not on doctor charges, but scans, ultrasounds, blood work, surgeries, etc, they’ll do it. Just something worth looking into.

That is great advice and I am so glad your husband is doing so well. Sadly many of us are barely able to live day to day and can’t even get any finances in order. My family doesn’t go on vacation, doesn’t eat out, we don’t spend money except on things we need and can barely scrape by. What y’all have been able to do so t the reality of most Americans
