And this is why I keep my judgements to myself. The only one that needs to be trapped within my rules are me!

Calling it evangelical really hits the nail on the head in multiple ways because so much of our shame comes directly from Christianity, even those of us who aren’t Christian.

Marian Mendez :
Most people are constantly projecting their internal worldview and are incapable of perceiving other reality than their own so when they blatantly face someone who’s life doesn’t conform to their beliefs it is perceived as an “anomaly”. Judging is always easier than thinking, judging others for not participating in their definition of reality is easier than coming to terms that it might be possible to think, act, live differently.

Shame is a powerful manipulation tool. This is why shadow work is so important. If you can tolerate your shame, you become very inconvenient.

I heard someone say that "boys aren't taught how to be men, they're only taught how not to be girls."

Often when I’m most embarrassed is running into my inner judgements when someone is confident and calm in the face of what I thought was logical but is now shown to just be my shame. Rough stuff, but makes me feel like we’ve grown

I need this message ENGRAVED on my soul 😩 my problem with social constructs and shame is that sometimes it doesn't really matter that you know something is fundamentally false, if enough people believe it, it ends up having a real impact on your life. doesn't matter that you know you don't need to be hyper masculine as a guy or a skinny woman if you're bigger, if you live in a society that thinks you have to be masculine or skinny or whatever, you're still in a place that thinks you're inherently inferior even if you know that's a lie. it's unfair. it makes you really angry at the world and at society

How do you deal with this when its your partner’s whole family? We’ve been together 13 years and just today one of them behaved in this way towards me. I seriously don’t understand why my partner brought me into this family, I love him but, me and his family don’t make sense to each other. It’s very draining. I don’t judge them but they’re very harsh towards me, nothing I say is right. It’s so strange. honestly if it wasn’t for astrology, I would be so depressed by now. I’m an Aquarius moon in the 10th and I have sun & Mercury in 9th plus an 8th house stellium, Saturn and Pluto in the 7th. Lilith and Ceres in 11th. They all have 3rd house stelliums or strong Gemini placements, I honestly love these archetypes, but they do not love mine . 🫣 If I’m quiet I’m boring, If I say something, it’s the dumbest thing anyone has ever said, but they’re very harsh don’t talk unless I talk. And when they do, it’s nothing particularly interesting, but it’s fine, I don’t get why so much hate.

How does one stop internally upholding harmful paradigms? I would say I project acceptance and 'wokeness'. I'm deconstructing the religion I was raised in and also cultural beliefs that were encoded in me. I'm fully aware of what is a limiting/harmful belief and any systems that are meant to put me into a box, but it's like internally I still haven't gotten to that conclusion. An example of this could be conservatism, I'll see someone doing something on the opposite side of the conservatism spectrum and feel judgement towards them I will consciously stop such thoughts and correct myself, but how do I stop the initial thought? Why is it still there when I know it's bad for me? Is it something that takes time or am I cosplaying being revolutionary? Sometimes it feels like I'm fake but I'm trying to change and it seems like I've only touched the tip of an iceberg.

i am a queer man who lives with very little shame. i am loud, my voice has a soft tenor, my laugh is not cute. you’d be surprised how many strangers (esp men) i upset in public just by enjoying myself and being me.
