i know this is a random unrelated comment but i need your help to make sense of something. i was studying in the city library when a woman sitting by randomly struck a conversation. she then began explaining she was going through a situation in the district court and was trying to prepare her victim impact statement. i explained to her i was actually a law student and, im unsure why, told her to not overthink it; that the court usually focused on public concerns, not necessarily victims, but the victim impact statement gives her the opportunity to tell her story. she thanked me and then walked away. later she returned, asked my birth year, then explained my birth year was the same as the sargeant she has been in contact with and that it was all connecting, and then she left. i have not stopped thinking about this exchange since
