@miriamezagui: Not looking for advice per say but looking for a community of parents that have been through this or are currently dealing with this. I’d love to hear how you handled or are handling it but I’m not. 😭 Night time has always been my me time and time to unwind and not having a bedtime routine is throwing me off. #bedtime #toddler #transition #routine

When a child doesn’t fall asleep until very late, it’s time to cut the afternoon nap. This happened to my daughter at the age of 3. The only time she would nap is when she was sick.

Put the toddler bed where her crib was. Transition the bed first. Then the location.

Can Dassy sleep in her big sisters room for a few weeks while Messody is getting use to her new bed? That way Dassy can stay on her routine while Messody starts her new routine.

18 years ago I transitioned my twin daughters to toddler beds. They got up and ran around their room laughing and giggling for hours. I ended up sitting in the middle of their room in the dark and when one got up I put her back in her bed without saying a word. I had to do this for hours for a week or so. It was horrible. But now they’re 20 and they go to bed by themselves! lol. Good luck. I hope you all get some rest.

Do not cut the nap. Kids need a nap at 2 years old. It’s literally been studied.

Either eliminate nap, try melatonin, or find a room in the house she can be in for the meantime. A master bath, office, etc!

My friend put the toddler bed into a big playpen. Then they had floor room to climb out of bed but not out a contained space

When my oldest were 2 & 4, I would put my 4 year old in my bed to start the night… and not move him to his bed until the 2 year old was asleep. It’s rough 😅

put a mattress at the end of your bed so she has a place to come to when she gets out of her bed and doesnt disturb anyone and hopefully she will fall back asleep.

Maybe bring the toddler bed back into your room where the crick was that way she’s not affecting other kiddos sleep schedules and she’s in the room. That is most familiar to her own sleep schedule. That’s what we had to do with our three-year-old recently for the same reason.

for my oldest (who is now 15) we had to transition her to a toddler bed in our bedroom, once she was used to staying in the bed, we moved her to her own bedroom. might be worth a shot!

No interaction when you return her to bed. No conversation, blank expressions. Maybe next morning light, gentle praise for others who stayed in bed all night, including Tatty & you.lol.
