I have to go to MFM for the same NT ultrasound in a couple weeks! Did they tell you gender?!

Hi! I was an ultrasound tech for 12 years. I did mostly general but, there were a lot of instances that a doctor would send a patient to me for a “mass”. Of course the patient is thinking the worst. So I did my best to help them with that anxiety within the scope of my practice (bc we can’t diagnose) HOWEVER as a fertility patient, I have not felt the same with the ultrasounds. Especially when I had to wait the excruciating 7 days to find out if I miscarried or not. All that to say, your anxiety and worry is valid. I’ve been on both sides of the worry. And it’s valid. If I was still practicing, my empathy would be ten fold because of my personal journey now. Love you internet friend! I’ve been following your journey and I’m sending you every prayer and good vibe for this pregnancy! ❤️

Girl my niece found this out during her pregnancy. She was told they couldn’t see the corpus callosum at that it was missing. It is very very scary. Her daughter is now 3 and thriving. Her daughter ended up have a very small fibrous connection

We went at 13 weeks. They did a Doppler to just check for heartbeats. We are pregnant with twins and she could only find one heartbeat. She immediately sent us to get an ultrasound. Baby a is just shy thankfully and was there and baby b taking up all the room. Scariest thing I have went through so far

This happened to me at the anatomy scan for my babies csp in his brain and I had to wait 9 days for a follow up 😭

my 12 week scan took over an HOUR because they were trying to find the line down my babies brain. we eventually found it but she almost had me come back in 4 weeks once baby was bigger to see it better. i panickedddddd we did end up getting it tho

They coded something in my chart after the anatomy scan “accessory lobe of the lung” and I crashed out the whole weekend just to find out it was a typo 🤦🏼♀️

I hate this for you! I went 20weeks thinking my son had what’s called ambiguous gender. Went through genetic testing everything. He came out just fine. Ultrasounds are terrifying esp when you have to wait for follow up. But every week I went same thing. Thankful for a healthy baby at delivery!

They really be making you so nervous when they say “we need more imaging”. My doctors said that they thought my baby’s heart was in the wrong spot so I went back in. We went back in and everything was totally fine!

The 12-week ultrasound should take at least 20 minutes. The technician “couldn't visualize the line” —actually, she had simply forgotten to save the image to the file for analysis, though she would never admit it. That’s what happened to me, although the technician did end up confessing was her mistake when I went back a week later.
