It's an autoimmune condition, which means her own immune system attacks her hair follicles and shuts them down. Not just on her scalp. Everywhere. Eyebrows, lashes, arms, legs, all of it. Nothing is wrong with her hair. Her body just stopped letting it grow. It's not contagious. It's not caused by stress, bad products, or anything she did. The follicles aren't dead, which is why some people regrow hair years later with no explanation. Is there a cure? No. There are treatments. The newest ones are JAK inhibitors (baricitinib, ritlecitinib), oral medications that calm the immune attack so the follicles can wake back up. For some people they work dramatically. For others, not at all. And here's the part nobody tells you: if you stop taking them, the hair usually falls out again. The condition didn't leave. It was being held back. What makes it come back? Honestly, nobody knows for sure. Flares get linked to illness, major stress, hormonal shifts, or nothing at all. That unpredictability is the hardest part. You can have hair for five years and lose it in five weeks. So when she says she's a catfish, she means the hair, the brows, the lashes are all chosen. I'd call that something else.
