If infinite realities are possible, there could be countless versions of every Minecraft world, each with different histories and timelines. Every second, our present becomes our past, and our future self becomes the person living in a new present. Now imagine Steve inhabiting a world earlier in its timeline, while the player exists further into its future. If the player could somehow appear in Steve's past, Steve might see them as Herobrine, while the player simply sees themselves as the ordinary inhabitant of their own present. This would mean we are the player in our present, but Herobrine in someone else's past. Different realities could contain different versions of this same story, potentially with different outcomes.
