According to Warner, Rudd said it "broke into almost all of our classified systems, not in weeks, but in hours.!" The test he referenced was a classified red-team exercise, the kind designed to find weaknesses before an adversary does. What stood out was the speed. An automated model did in hours what a human team would normally take weeks to complete. The timing lines up with everything that followed. One day after the briefing, the Commerce Department used export controls to pull Anthropic's Fable 5 and Mythos offline. I he two models share the same underlying system, but Mythos runs without the safety classifiers that Fable applies to sensitive requests, which is the kind of gap officials have pointed to.
