@mrmoore165: rendingnow • NAGRAT: Teachers Will Remain on Strike Until 51,000 Promoted Teachers Receive Arrears The President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Jacob Anaba, has stated that teachers will remain on strike until the 51,000 teachers who were promoted receive their outstanding promotion-related arrears. According to Mr. Anaba, the affected teachers must receive their payments by October 16, 2026, in line with a commitment made by the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu. He stressed that teachers will not return to the classroom until the government fulfils the promise and the outstanding payments are received by the affected teachers. The position comes as teacher unions continue their industrial action over unpaid promotion-related arrears and other concerns affecting teachers. NAGRAT is therefore demanding that the government honour its commitment to the 51,000 promoted teachers before the strike can be called off.
