@the.legal.np: An update in the Rachel Tussey case: JourneyLite has countersued her surgeon, Dr. Shahryar Tork, and his practice for defamation and false light following his public accusations about her postoperative care. I pulled both the family’s complaint and the facility’s counterclaim. These are competing allegations…not court findings…and the medication details deserve a closer look. Behind this legal battle is a family who lost a wife and mother and deserves answers. 🤍 #racheltussey #plasticsurgery #defamation #medicaltiktok #doctorsoftiktok

That’s weird bc he definitely ceased all of his surgeries with Journeylite after this incident and started using Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati directly after.

I can't imagine that someone gave that much narcotic in a short time and then narcan didn't reverse it even if they did.

@Hannah Marsh: I work peds so I might be wrong in adult anesthesia, but it sounds like she may have got rigid chest/“wooden chest” from pushing the fentanyl too quickly or overdosed. You have to give succinylcholine/paralytic and intubate bc even bagging won’t work. & a dose that big needs a lot more narcan to work/a drip until the half life has passed (pretty short- 2-4hrs fentanyl)

Question: did the family eventually allow an autopsy? I think it’s so strange the declined and then refused autopsy. How will will know true cause of death?

I'd be curious to see how much Narcan they gave and when they gave it. Sometimes it takes more than the typical 2-4mg to pull them out if they had a heavy opioid dose. What did the autopsy find? What did ems report finding and does it contrast with the potentially edited documentation of the doctor or facility? Were all the scrubs trained in ACLS? How long between when she was found crashing and when 911 records received the call? Does the facility know that "following orders" is even weaker in medicine than it was in the 3rd Reich?

Facilities on notorious for hiding medical notes and documentation, even though you subpoena them, the hospital or the facility doesn’t always produce them. It’s a lose lose case.

the family not doing an autopsy raises red flags for me. why wouldn't you want to know exactly what happened

Narcan would of reversed that though before she became anoxic. And if they actually did high quality ACLS in that situation as they should be trained to do, again. That wouldn’t happen. Which leads me to think maybe it was something else too

That doesn’t sound like a high enough dose to cause an overdose. Also if it was more than she could tolerate the narcan should have worked

Oh, HOW could he go on air and say the center wasn’t safe and then do other cases there??? And, I also want to see the MAR, because I also think that OP center is suspicious. But he did himself no favors by continuing to operate there.
