People won’t want to hear this and will come at me but here goes…..I’m a multimillionaire. My home is worth around £2 million and is paid off. All bills are paid upfront for the year and it’s just running costs like electricity and gas to keep pool running etc. I have over a million invested in multiple forums and still work full time. My salary is modest now, £60k a year and gives me something to do with no stress and I work from home. But…. I don’t class myself as rich. I’m conscious the money will go if I don’t carry on working. What I have is not the dream you all think it is. Am I tight? Nope. We do nice things, eat well and have nice holidays but I’d say we are ‘ok’ not rich. I still scrutinise costs and think everything is over priced and am cautious with wants and needs. This man is right. A million isn’t anything these days. Yes of course you’d all like to be in this position but it’s not sustainable unless you keep working.

Oh, I understand that, I have about 3 million in cash, stocks, bonds, real estate etc. I am not nor will I be wealthy, my investments return about $125,000 per year, I pay taxes, brokers fees, management fees etc After those I make about 100,000 net. That is not enough to live on for 2 people anymore. So I have to sell assets monthly in a good or bad market.If the market does well I'm OK, if not its reducing my portfolio gradually.
