I’m just gonna put comment from the last video here, many black hairstyles come from a time of when black people struggle, for example cornrows were used for slaves to escape from their slave owner and by doing that they would make escape paths on their head, for the dreads braids and natural afros , black people were told constantly that their hair was too messy for work places and other public areas, so when something goes popular that they were discriminated against obviously many will be angry, it’s exactly like when people used to say that Chinese people eat cats and dogs only few years ago and now those same people are eating Chinese food not actually crediting Chinese people themselves(sorry if this isn’t a good example) . The reason why Tarzzan got cancelled was because he constantly wore cornrows which is apart of black history and culture, plus tight hair styles like braids are just really bad for people with straight hair. If people would want to do cultural appreciation then they would study the history behind the hairstyles instead of wearing them.

There’s a difference between appreciating a culture and appropriating it. It crosses into appropriation when someone takes a style that carries deep historical meaning for an oppressed group, strips away that history, and treats it like a temporary fashion trend or costume without respecting the community it came from.

Inventions are not part of culture lmao but culture should be respected and should be wore with permission and with no intentions of racism.
