Housing is a basic human need and the foundation for building a life. If housing prices keep rising faster than people can afford, more people will face financial crises, especially those living paycheck to paycheck. Being just one paycheck away from homelessness means one unexpected setback can take away someone’s stability. And once people lose their homes, rebuilding their lives becomes much harder because they have to find shelter before they can focus on everything else.
Housing should be a foundation that helps people build their lives, not a barrier that makes it harder to survive.
