To properly take care of your pigeons, it’s very important to keep a few basic things in mind so they stay healthy and strong: 🏠 Housing (Loft / cage) Pigeons need a clean, airy, and dry place. The loft or cage should be a bit raised off the ground. Make sure it’s protected from rain, strong winds, and direct sun. Clean it every day so diseases don’t spread. 🍽️ Food Corn, millet, wheat, chickpeas, and lentils are excellent foods. Always keep clean, fresh water available. It’s beneficial to give minerals (calcium/grit) 1–2 times a week. 💧 Water Change the water every day. In hot weather, give cool water and in winter, normal room-temperature water. It’s very important to keep the water dish clean. 🩺 Health and hygiene Bathe the pigeons regularly (1–2 times a week). If any pigeon looks weak or sick, keep it separate. From time to time, give vaccines and medicines (with a veterinarian’s advice). 🕊️ Reproduction (Breeding) Keep the pair (male and female) in a separate place. The nest should be clean and comfortable. Pay special attention to protecting the eggs and chicks. 🏃‍♂️ Flight (Exercise) Let the pigeons fly for a while every day. This keeps them strong and active. ⚠️ Important points Don’t overcrowd (disease spreads in over-crowding). Keep new pigeons separate for a few days and observe them first.
