Genuinely, I was born in Rome and lived there till my grandpa got cancer and had to come to my mum's home country, he died a year or two later after we moved. my family deeply regrets moving from Italy since it was much better and living here in Romania is a nightmare. in August I came to visit Italy. I miss Italy and I would do anything to live in it again. This year my father is 80% leaving to Italy to work, and if he's doing good he'll take my family there again too. I hope I can go back.

everytime I go to Italy, I think of who I would’ve become if I have stayed there. My friends, my life, my dreams, my position in life…and my chest tightens in the most painful way. Looking at..the me I was supposed to be, with the life I was supposed to have-..only a mirage of it. I love going back there but the pain that comes with it is almost unbearable.

This is truly heart wrenching..💔 I was born in Italy and I spent my childhood there until I was 11. I went back to Italy after 9 years this summer and the pain I felt was unbearable we visited all the places we once lived, and still I have no words to explain those emotions. We were there as tourists, and it broke my heart because I didn't know how to explain that this was once my home, and somehow a part of me will always belong there. I had left my younger self in that country, and when I returned I got to meet my younger self again. It's been 4 months, and even now, thinking about that time brings a strange ache to my heart, a kind of longing I can't explain. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who feel this way. There’s something comforting about knowing that other people understand this kind of pain too.
