@kuensel_nationalnews: Update: A flash flood in the Budhi Gandaki River on Sunday morning in Nepal has caused widespread destruction in Gorkha district, sweeping away an estimated 35–40 houses and destroying several bridges. The flood also damaged infrastructure at the under-construction 341-MW Budhi Gandaki hydropower project and inundated settlements. Up to five people are reported missing in Chumchet, while four to five herders remain out of contact. Six people were rescued by helicopter by the Nepali Army. Authorities suspect a landslide may have triggered the flood, but the cause remains unconfirmed.
