I was putting hundreds of hours into making videos and they were getting less and less views every day. then I started to lose followers, which is not something that should happen to someone who is posting new, thoughtful content every single day. 😅 I finally figured out that it aaaaall had to do with that video in July. this was after contacting and talking to people at tiktok OVER TEN TIMES with them telling me they were sorry but all they could think of is that I wasn't getting views and was losing followers was that my content just wasn't good anymore. it wasn't until they escalated my msg that I found out it was due to the video that could not be appealed. I got demonitized, but I could still earn money from the kind folks who subscribe to my page. if you post 3 subscriber exclusive vids every month, you get 20% more of a payout. today, on the last day of the month, I got msgs saying two of my subscriber only videos were removed due to there being nudity in the video. this happens almost every time I post a subscriber exclusive video, I appeal, and it's restored, buuuuut since it's the last day of the month, there's nothing I can do about it. so... yeah. I'm very upset. I loved coming on here every day, making meaningful content that was helping folks and having fun talking to you all in the comments. but now when I come on here, my follow count is down another 100 followers, my videos have less and less views every day, and now they're deleting the videos that help me get the small amount of income I am still eligible to receive on here. I've been trying to keep posting at least every other day, but it's really hard to find the motivation to make something when I know in advance that it's going to perform poorly. please know, it isn't about the money. I was making videos for about four months before I even found out I could earn anything on here. I had no clue what was happening when I got a msg saying I had earned 21 cents. it's about how my engagement addicted brain feels every time I log on and see 100 less followers, a huge decline in views, and my presence on the FYP being almost completely eliminated. it's about spending hours on something I'm proud of, but get no benefit from posting. instead, I get to worry about how long it's going to be until I'm somehow penalized for posting it. all I've ever done on here is try to spread positivity and share knowledge about addiction, recovery, harm reduction, and mental health as a whole. so, I'm going to try to take the advice I would give any of you in this situation and take a break for the sake of my own mental health. if you read this, thank you for doing so.
