Not sure why I got dressed up to go to the hospital today. This dress is so lightweight and cozy, and I figured if I was spending the day there, I might as well try to look half decent. Maybe it makes no difference at all, but part of me wants to look my youngest and healthiest when I walk through those doors. Maybe it's my way of reminding myself that l am more than my diagnosis. Maybe it's my way of silently asking my medical team to keep fighting for me as hard as I am fighting for myself. Or maybe I'm just a little nuts. Either way, why not dress up once in a while? The good news is that chemo went rather well for the first round, and right now, I don't look sick. For that, l am grateful. Sometimes getting dressed up isn't about anyone else. It's about looking in the mirror and seeing yourself instead of seeing cancer. I still have more treatments ahead of me, but today felt like a good day, and in this journey, I have learned to celebrate the good days whenever they come. One treatment at a time. One day at a time. One step at a time. #CancerAwareness #ChemoLife #Hope #Healing4Joy #fyypppp
