@texbeachbum: Just because you see sand doesn't mean there's enough room to drive ! Watch those narrow stretches, avoid standing water and don't try to squeeze between the Gulf and the dunes. Nobody wants their beach vacation to end with a tow truck and a salty repair bill ! Find yourself a nice, wide stretch of beach, keep your campsite well away from the water and pay attention to the incoming tides. Never drive through floodwater of unknown depth or around barricades. The beach isn't going anywhere, but your truck might if you park in the wrong spot ! Enjoy that Island Time, Beach Bums, and keep an eye on the Gulf !
