@lostson350: I don't think most women wake up one day and decide they don't want to feel feminine anymore. Usually, life happens. You become responsible for everything. You get disappointed enough times that you stop relying on people. You spend years working, parenting, solving problems and protecting yourself, and eventually "get it done" mode becomes your normal. You can look feminine on the outside while feeling completely disconnected from that part of yourself. 1. HAVING TO BE THE STRONG ONE FOR TOO LONG Everyone comes to you when something goes wrong because they know you'll figure it out. You're lending money, giving advice, fixing family problems and keeping everyone calm. When you never get to put the responsibility down, you become so used to being strong that softness can start feeling unsafe. 2. BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP WHERE YOU HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING You plan the dates, manage the finances, remember appointments, initiate difficult conversations and make sure things get done. Eventually, you don't feel like you're in a partnership. You feel like you're managing another adult. It's difficult to relax around someone you don't trust to handle things without your supervision. 3. BELIEVING THAT NEEDING PEOPLE MAKES YOU WEAK Maybe you've been disappointed enough times that you decided, "I'll never depend on anyone again." So even when someone genuinely wants to help, your first response is, "No thanks, I've got it." Independence isn't the problem. It's when independence becomes an inability to receive support. 4. CONSTANTLY PUTTING YOURSELF LAST You make sure everyone has eaten but realize at 4pm that you haven't. You'll spend money on the children without thinking twice, then feel guilty buying something nice for yourself. Your hobbies disappear, rest becomes optional and everything you enjoy gets pushed to "when I have time." 5. LIVING IN CONSTANT SURVIVAL MODE When you're worried about money, work, children, family problems or what could go wrong next, there's little room for pleasure. You're thinking about bills while getting a massage and checking emails when you're supposed to be relaxing 😂. 6. LOSING CONNECTION WITH YOUR BODY Sometimes life becomes so mental that you barely notice your body unless something hurts or you don't like how it looks. You stop moving in ways you enjoy, dressing in ways that make you feel good, resting when you're tired or noticing what your body needs. 7. ALWAYS BEING THE GIVER You're the friend who remembers birthdays, the girlfriend who plans surprises and the daughter everyone depends on. But when somebody tries to do something for you, you feel guilty. If you're constantly pouring into everyone while refusing to let anyone pour into you, eventually you'll feel depleted. 8. STAYING AROUND PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU HARDEN YOURSELF Some environments require you to constantly defend yourself. You're always arguing, proving yourself, anticipating disrespect or making sure nobody takes advantage of you. Eventually you carry that armour everywhere, including places where you don't need it. 9. FORGETTING THAT YOU'RE ALLOWED TO ENJOY YOUR LIFE Everything doesn't have to improve you, make you money or accomplish something. Buy the flowers because they're beautiful. Take yourself somewhere nice. Dance around your house. Wear something that makes you feel amazing. Spend an afternoon doing absolutely nothing productive. For some women, reconnecting with their femininity isn't about becoming someone different. It's about remembering who they were before life became one long list of responsibilities. You can be ambitious, independent and capable while learning to receive, rest, enjoy yourself and allow other people to show up for you.
