@daddysbike: A nearly perfectly preserved baby woolly mammoth named Yana was discovered in Siberia’s Yakutia region. 🦣❄️ The remarkable find was revealed to the public in December 2024. Yana was found near the Batagaika crater, where thawing permafrost exposed her remains after tens of thousands of years. Scientists initially estimated that she lived around 50,000 years ago. The female mammoth was about 1.2 metres tall and weighed approximately 180 kilograms. Her head and trunk remained remarkably intact, making the discovery especially significant. 😮 Scientists are studying Yana’s remains to learn more about mammoths and their Ice Age environment. The discovery also highlights how melting permafrost can reveal extraordinary prehistoric secrets
