This also made me cry a little bit. I left Vietnam in 2015 and even though I didn’t think I would get homesick, I found myself trying to find glimpses of the winding roads and the luscious green mountain ranges of northwestern Vietnam in other parts of the world but there’s nothing quite like it. There are taller mountains and deeper valleys elsewhere but I think the nature and people of this region has a welcoming quality to them.

understand those tears so much. During my trip with Good Morning Ha Giang Loop Tour, our local guide took us to his actual village to drink tea with his family. The kindness and warmth of these people will stay with me for life.

I only did volunteering in Ha Giang once, not doing Ha Giang Loop. But i get it. Once you see people live happily with so little; and lacking all kind of stuffs, it drawn on you some what of feeling guilty because you have so much, but feel miserable most of the time. The scenery makes you feel so small and your problem seems insignificant. People that you befriend with along the way. First time in my life to be able to play Werewolf and UNO with a bunch of kids who did volunteer with me til 2AM, next to the bond fire; made me feel like I was back to be a kid again. It’s a very different experience for each one of us 🥹

guys im viet and i cried without knowing why. It's more like you finally realized how small you are in such a big world, how beautiful things are when you don't have to keep performing and a bittersweet when you have to leave somewhere that makes you feel like home, in a way it made me feel like a baby bird leaving the nest HAHA

I literally broke down crying on the last day saying goodbye to my rider from Good Morning Ha Giang Loop Tour. On the second day it was freezing rain, and he gave me his own jacket and bought me hot ginger tea at a tiny roadside shed. Felt like family took care of me.

ha giang left so many memories for me. at first i wasn't planning on going, but the staff at gia clinic told me i absolutely had to, and it turned out to be the absolute best experience of my trip
