@troygacheru: Resolving trauma is hard. It can cause hypervigilance, making one anticipate danger even when none exists. After multiple distress episodes, staying alert for danger can become automatic, even without real concerns. One is always ready to respond to perceived threats that don't exist, making breaking this cycle of anxiety difficult. Knowing when that mindset sets in is crucial. It is crucial to remember that past events do not determine future outcomes. Authentic caution and instinctive fear from past experiences can be hard to distinguish, especially when one expects bad results. Healing is about changing one's worldview, not just processing past events. It requires not assuming the worst and stopping the search for nonexistent problems. Healing is about peace in the present and hope for the future, not regret. When disaster seems inevitable, breathe deeply and focus on the present. Understanding that healing requires letting go of the instinct to prepare for impact when there is no threat.
