I always think to myself that when they internally argue he gets very expressive & she’s more subtle since Xaden loses control when it comes to her 😂

Ask your team this in your next meeting. It works every single time. Ask them what the best experience they ever had at a restaurant was. Give them time. Let them actually think about it. Then ask them the worst experience they ever had at a restaurant. Have them tell you both. Best first. Then worst. Here is what you will see nine times out of ten. Both answers will be about a person. The best one sounds like this. I went to this restaurant and the server was so nice, they did this, and then the manager came out and did that. Or, they messed up my order and then they did all this stuff, and I could not believe how good it was. Notice that one. The story people tell about the best night they ever had is often the night something went wrong and somebody fixed it properly. The worst one is always a person too. The server did this. The host had the audacity to say that. The manager came over and made it worse. Nobody says the chicken was dry. They remember how they were treated. Which tells you exactly where your money is. It is not in the menu. It is in the twenty or thirty people who touch a guest on any given night. Restaurant training systems exist to make that interaction repeatable instead of accidental. Hospitality training is the only line item that changes which of those two stories a guest tells about you. Do this exercise in a pre shift and let your own team hear themselves say it. It lands harder than anything you could tell them. Any restaurant manager can run this in ten minutes and get more out of it than a whole training day. Restaurant leadership is making sure nobody forgets the answer they gave. Restaurant culture decides which of those two stories gets told about your place tonight. Guest experience is not the food. It is the person who brought it. Retention follows from that, and so does every review you did not have to ask for. #restaurantowner #hospitality #guestexperience #serversales
