Once, a Kiribaku fan told me to my face that this song was for Kirishima and Bakugo because of that episode where Kirishima reached out to save him, but I stand by it, even though it sounds delusional, that both hand-holdings—when Kirishima reached out to Bakugo and when Iida reached out to Izuku—were a Bakudeku moment. Because in BOTH cases, they were the ones who chose who would touch them. Kirishima was a connection to Izuku's hand, and Iida was a connection to Bakugo's hand. They both INTENTED to reach out, and both Kirishima and Iida were merely symbolic instruments of what both Bakugo and Izuku wanted to do, but the moment wasn't right. So, them finally holding hands was the final act after so much avoidance due to external factors.

Their story is about forgiveness, growth, and learning that love isn’t always soft it can be messy, painful, and earned over time.Maybe that’s why so many people love BKDK. Not because they needed a happy ending together, but because sometimes the saddest love stories are the ones where two people become each other’s greatest reason to grow… even if the story never calls it love.
