@echosofnorth: New Brighton Brought Back to Life | c.1900 (Teaser) Step back onto the sands at New Brighton, around 1900. This AI-recreated film brings the Wirral's great seaside resort back to life, from the crowded beaches and bathing machines beneath Fort Perch Rock to the old pier, packed with day-trippers who came "over the water" by ferry from Liverpool. Towering over it all stood New Brighton Tower: opened in 1898, it rose 567ft, about 50ft taller than Blackpool's, and was the tallest building in Britain. Within a generation it was gone, dismantled by 1921. Using surviving photographs and historical references, I've tried to bring a little of that lost world back to life. 🎬 This is just a short teaser. The full film is available now to Echoes Supporters here on Tiktok.
