The odds that it happened in both places back to back makes no sense. I think the cop is trying to trick them into saying they went to subway as well…… because they may have given a counterfeit bill in both places?? Hopefully there is another part to this

It sounds to me like the cop is lying and trying to trick them into saying something and if that’s true he needed to read them their rights before he makes any statement that can be used against him. I would have told the cop “this sounds to me like something their boss needs to take up with the employee that made the mistake!” I just put the change in my pocket. I wouldn’t be going back to Walmart to give money that they can’t prove they have to me
