@karlflacko: Protect your gear and document your serial numbers before you ever leave a camera at a repair shop 📸⚠️ @kailaide trusted a vintage camera repair shop with a priceless 1960s Rolleiflex passed down through her family from her grandmother. She brought it in for routine service, and what came back was an absolute disaster.  Mismatched plates, stripped screws, fresh gouges in the metal, and hardware that does not even match the original camera build. The craziest part is the shop admitting on camera that they forced the screws because they did not have the proper tools. 👎🏽 Gatekeeping in this industry is bad enough, but taking advantage of independent photographers and ruining sentimental film gear is completely unacceptable.  If you are dropping off vintage film cameras or cinema packages for service, follow three non negotiable rules: 1️⃣ Photograph every angle, screw, and cosmetic detail right on the shop counter before handing it over. 2️⃣. Log the exact serial number on your intake paperwork and take a picture of the signed receipt. 3️⃣Require written approval before any internal parts or plates are swapped.
