@thatmagicalnurse: 🩺 Let’s talk about MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure)! : MAP is the average pressure in your arteries throughout one cardiac cycle. It’s an important number we use to assess whether vital organs like the brain, heart, and kidneys are getting adequate blood flow. : 💉 What should your MAP be? ✨ 70–100 mmHg: Generally considered a normal range. ✨ ≥65 mmHg: A common minimum target for critically ill adults, especially patients in shock. 🚨 Below 65 mmHg: Can indicate inadequate organ perfusion, especially when accompanied by other signs of shock. : Remember, MAP is only one piece of the puzzle! Always assess your patient’s mental status, urine output, vital signs, and overall clinical picture. : : 🚨 So, what do you do when your patient’s MAP is low and the provider orders 500 mL bolus over 2 hours? : ✨ You ADVOCATE! 👏🏼✨ : & only roll your eyes at the Epic chat when no one’s looking. 🙃😂 : @wearfigs @fabletics scrubs @mandalascrubs : #nurse #nurses #nursing #nurselife #nursingstudent
