I feel like some people think the point of the boycott was for the girls to get the rights to their music, which is practically impossible. The point was for the girls to be free, and they are free. The fact that it took Yeojin actually saying it out loud to even be taken into consideration is very telling

i feel that people are questioning yeojin and why she would say that or if it's right / wrong to stream, as if she isn't one of the 12 members who knows more than any of us? i completely agree with your post btw i just feel that some of the fans are questioning her intelligence and it's pretty weird to see that they would let bbc make them question the artists that literally made said songs 😭😭😭

Sadly hasn't settled it down much. I've seen comments from clearly defensive people still trying to insist that it's unethical to stream, or that Yeojin's opinion doesn't matter because the other members don't stream (they do). I think some people have cognitive dissonance with this, many of us have been pointing out that it's not unethical & have been harassed (even doxxed) for it. I imagine those harassers are the ones refusing to face the facts

loona's music is their legacy and a large chunk of their life's work. to shame potential new listeners from streaming is absurd. Yeojin said it herself that this music should be heard. it will help all their careers by not limiting who can hear their music, and allow new fans to explore their back catalogue without fear of people shaming them online

I do kinda wish some Orbits saw the boycott as collective consumer action to pressure a company and not a test of morality. The point was to help the members obtain justice, not feel good about ourselves. The lingering guilt around streaming Loona feels a bit misguided at times, especially when it turns into condescension towards the members.
