This is a good call out post but I do want to say “say her name” is a saying specifically made to fight back the invisibility of black women experiencing state sanctioned violence. Because white people who’ve experienced have always had their names said but not black peoples. Applying this saying to a white person dismisses the erasure of the constant police violence black people face that is being hidden. I assume this wasn’t your intention but I also assume you would like to be educated about things like this considering the kind of post this is. While phoebes death was caused by a police officer and they didn’t want people to know that she’s still white and police brutality isn’t a constant issue white people face.
