this song genuinely hits me like a brick in the face. and i can say this here because i know she will never see this. but we were sitting in hot tub at her grandmas house back in october of 2023. she was the first girl i ever loved. and it was so absolutely obvious. and she put this song on, and sang it word for word. i don’t exactly know the meaning of it. but she looked me dead in the eyes while singing this to me. and it was the closest thing she had ever done to saying she loved me or calling me her boyfriend at the time. but this was one of her favorite songs at the time, and i used to listen to it all the time just to remember that night where it really felt like she fell in love with me. we’re not together anymore, and we’re honestly so far from it. but i’ll never forget the memories that she brought me, and i’ll never forget the the time, even if it was for just a little while, that i was truly happy in my life. i carry on that weight in my heart and hope that i can be loved in that same way again someday. i’ll always care for her and i wouldn’t change anything that happened for the world
