Federal officials leaving open the possibility of deploying armed immigration agents to polling locations. 3. Federal agencies using government databases to identify alleged noncitizen voters, despite serious concerns about inaccurate information. 4. The Trump administration demanding sensitive voter records from states and pursuing lawsuits against those refusing to comply. 5. Federal investigations revisiting claims surrounding the 2020 election. Of particular concern is the threat of armed federal agents at polling locations, especially amid recent incidents involving ICE’s use of deadly force. Federal law prohibits certain deployments of armed federal personnel at polling places, and voter intimidation is flat out illegal, like many of the immigration enforcement actions we’ve witnessed over the last two years. With just over three weeks until the midterms, Congress and the courts must address these concerns and ensure that every eligible voter can exercise their constitutional rights safely and without intimidation.
