Today’s testimony in the Lindsey Clancy trial focused on a question the prosecution clearly believed was important: “Do I have a lawyer?” The prosecution highlighted Lindsey’s question during cross-examination, suggesting it was relevant to her awareness of what had happened. The psychiatrist, however, seemed to view it differently. Rather than focusing on the question itself, she testified that Lindsey had suffered catastrophic injuries, was exhausted, and was preparing to undergo surgery when she asked it. Her testimony provided the context of Lindsey’s physical condition at the time instead of placing significance on those four words alone. I thought this was one of the more interesting exchanges of the day because it showed how the same statement can be interpreted in very different ways by each side. As I’ve said before, I personally believe Lindsey intended to end her own life after killing her children, and I also believe she should be held criminally responsible for her actions. Those two beliefs are not mutually exclusive. I’m still most interested in hearing the remaining testimony about Lindsey’s mental health and, if they’re admitted into evidence, the journals. I want to hear all of the evidence before reaching a conclusion on the defense’s mental health claims. What did you think about today’s testimony? 🩷 Mortgage by day, true crime nerd by night—one pays the bills… the other feeds my curiosity. If you’re looking to buy, sell, or refinance, I’d love the opportunity to earn your trust—and your business. #LindseyClancy #TrueCrime #Courtroom #TrialUpdate #Justice
