This approach still isn't right, my friend. An axe needs a perfectly tight fit on the handle to work safely and comfortably. Right now, it's holding but it's still loose and wobbling

waste of time, just put your axe in a bucket of water it will fix the problem with out a spoon . also it's not good to put screws in a axe handle it will split the handle
