Max Blumenthal is an American journalist, author, and filmmaker. He founded and leads The Grayzone, an independent investigative news outlet known for its critical coverage of U.S. foreign policy, military interventions, and U.S.-Israeli relations. On February 24, 2024, Blumenthal spoke during a panel discussion titled “Gaza and the Future of Palestine” at Portland State University. During the audience Q&A, a woman questioned why the panelists weren’t focusing more on why Palestinians initiated the October 7 attacks. Blumenthal responded by discussing the 1948 Nakba, the history of al-Majdal, and Gaza’s refugee population. The clip continues to circulate as people debate the history of Palestine, October 7, and the context behind the ongoing conflict. #MaxBlumenthal #Palestine #Gaza #TheGrayzone #History - @usafirst88
