@calltoleap: @drchefpsekar Here are 5 uncomfortable truths every 20-year-old should hear: 1. Failure is inevitable — and that’s completely normal. Learn from it and keep moving. 2. Always look presentable. First impressions matter, like it or not. 3. You’re not special just for showing up. Doing the bare minimum won’t cut it. Go the extra mile to stand out. 4. Confidence is a skill. Build it by showing up for yourself and pushing through discomfort. 5. Work hard now or work even harder later. Life is full of trade-offs. Choose wisely. -Steve Check out my FREE Beginner’s Investing Class through the link in my bio! Follow @calltoleap for investing videos! My Gen Z kid works 40 hours a week and goes to school full time. Gets good grades and is always outside running around. He’s always on the grind.

Yet people like me who spent 20 years in our fields can’t find jobs because we’re too old? I’m 47…. I will show up on time and do my job that I’ve been asked to do. It’s ridiculous

During the interview we went through so many Gen Z candidates. They were bad. Either dressing casual, ice coffee in hand, look bored, couldn’t answer simple questions etc. we end hiring a millennial 🤣

I don’t know what generation you are, but if you are a millennial or Gen Z you know that boomers are the problem and i know that Gen Z needs to improve on things but those are the younger ones the older people in Gen Z are 28-29 almost 30

I own two businesses, once I see the D.O.B. I just tossed them out I don't even second guess them. I have 3 Gen Z working for me but they are my buddies kids and young adult. The only reason I have them still is because they have been with me since they were in the 9th grade summer job.

As a manager, I’ve seen things that honestly make me question where we are headed as a society. I’ve had parents call the store to call their grown children out of work. I’ve had parents show up asking me to give their children more hours. I’ve even had a parent come to the job to confront an assistant manager because their child got upset after being told to get off their phone.
I have college-aged team members who constantly say, “My mama said…”
At some point, we have to allow our children to grow up, take accountability, and learn how to handle situations for themselves.
You cannot protect your children from every uncomfortable situation and expect them to become independent adults. The workplace is where people learn responsibility, communication, professionalism, and how to accept constructive criticism.
Parents, you won’t always be there to speak for your children. Prepare them for the real world instead of trying to shield them from it.

Biggest problem is they are the product of everyone is a winner, no child left behind and parents wanting to be friends instead of parenting. We raised our son old school: let him fail and teach him how to do better, strong work ethic. whe he was RA a year ago he called me and said "thank you" for what? "raising me the way you did, I see it now" He goes to college to be an Elm teacher, works 3 jobs. Focused on the finish line.

We don’t have any at my job because when they are hired they are fired because they don’t put their phones down!! It’s really sad that an entire generation has been crippled by overbearing parents.
