Eastern Hills Mall opened in 1971 along Transit Road in Clarence with major stores including AM&A’s, JCPenney, Sears, Jenss, Woolworth, and Hengerer’s. For years, it was one of Western New York’s biggest shopping destinations. But after Walden Galleria opened in 1989, Eastern Hills slowly lost national tenants and major anchors. The interior mall closed in January 2024, and the property is now moving toward a massive mixed-use redevelopment. It was so lovely like the thruway mall as a kid goin to the arcade before the Houity touti galleria opened with high prices now there the only one but suffering too
