I kinda want a cap myself, but they absolutely have to get rid of the deferrals, if you’re gonna buy a player, you should have to pay them now not when they’re senior citizens

The issue is anybody can do it but nobody wants to. That is the problem. These owners are crying but yet they make more money now then ever. Baseball don't have a lockout because they will have some sort of agreement. The commissioner needs to tell free agents you can't go to the Dodgers. Period.

I don't think it really means much personally. You can't look at one year, you have to look at season after season in aggregate. The league will only become less competitive the longer it stays this way because the largest big market teams effectively have no limit to what they can spend

I think its an accolades issue, not a salary issue. Otherwise teams like the Mets would be in every year and teams like the Rays wouldnt be in the playoffs right now.

Regardless of if you’re for or against the change, there shouldn’t be this much variation in terms of operational expenditure for a PROFESSIONAL SPORTS LEAUGE…… there should be clear rules and guidelines that teams operate within.

because that's 74 million team over the years has lost All Star after All Star to teams like the Yankees and the Dodgers, and that shouldn't have to be the case. because they can't develop players they have to steal players

It’s basically rookie contracts vs vet contracts. Teams in the playoffs on 75mil have a like 2 year window w that before they unload those players for the dodgers and Yankees to sign them

The $700,000,000 of Ohtani's contract the Dodgers most likely already made that money and then some for licensing Ohtani's likeness.

No money doesn’t matter, the dodgers have by far the best front office and business leaders in baseball, thats what matters. It’s not about how much you pay it abouts who you pay, why aren’t the mets or jankees as dominate as the dodgers? They could pay the exact same contracts the dodgers do

floor no, cap yes, being a guardians fan and living in the area, I don't want to lose my team. and if the owners have to in effect double what they pay in salary, where does that money come from? higher ticket prices, higher merch prices? or do they just sell the team because they can't make enough money.
