I went from a 600 to a fz09 it’s not all about hp but torque. Got used to the front wheel coming up. Then i went to a liter bike. Best decision i made.

depends on what you mean by upgrade. if you want more straight line speed, can't beat a 1000. if you want to be "faster" the 1000 isn't going to make you turn faster just by buying it. The 600 with a skilled rider will outrun an inexperienced on a 1000 every time. I prefer the rider mod. it's more fun that way.
