I have been stalking Millie online for a week now and finally had some time today to go meet her 🥺 Millie originally came to the shelter as a cruelty case. She was adopted and thankfully gained some much needed weight, but it seems she was still struggling with some skin issues and allergies that hadn’t been fully addressed. Now she’s back at the shelter getting treatment for a few different things. She also has a pretty noticeable head tilt which might just be the cutest thing ever!! 😩 And before the comments about how it’s cruel to take a shelter dog out for the day only to bring them back, please understand that a change of scenery can be so important for a dog’s mental health. Even if it’s just for a few hours. These outings also give us a chance to learn more about who these dogs are outside of a kennel and share that with potential adopters. Millie spent some time relaxing on our couch today and seemed to really enjoy having a quiet place to unwind. I do think she’s going to need a special adopter. Someone who understands that she has some medical needs and is willing to give her the care and patience she deserves. • Questions? Check the FAQ on my Instagram highlights • ID: HHTX-A-21920 • Intake: Cruelty case, later adopted and returned • Female • 7 years • 46lbs • Good with other dogs? Yes • Good with cats? Yes • Would benefit from a patient adopter willing to address her medical needs 💌 If interested in adopting Millie, please contact Houston Humane Society directly and reference her animal ID: HHTX-A-21920. 📍 Houston Humane Society @Houston Humane Society 14700 Almeda Rd Houston, TX 77053 www.houstonhumane.org
