Just sharing a little perspective as someone who has owned both a fully booth-rental salon and a W-2 commission salon! 🤍 I think there’s a misconception that commission salons are automatically more profitable. The reality is W-2 employees come with significantly higher overhead, and while 60% commission is amazing for the stylist, it can be difficult for the business owner to sustain. At the end of the day, neither model guarantees profitability if you don’t know your numbers! And this is coming from someone in a very small Southern town! One thing I’ve learned is that when you’ve built credibility, you absolutely can charge what you need to run a profitable business, regardless of your location. And you, my dear, have built incredible credibility! Don’t forget the value you bring to the table. 🤍💜

Commission is the best way to go you’ll be so happy you did. I do hybrid as well but eventually will go full commission and I also do 60/40 where I take 40 and provide everything the girls take 60
