If you do listen to this person be prepared to pay more for when your garage door needs repairs. Those shelf’s are going to be in the way and you don’t want stuff close to those springs. Springs don’t go out every 20 yrs how this guy says they last 5-10 yrs just depends on use. But do not do this I will charge you a lot more if I have to remove it or cut it to be able to work on your garage door there is a reason why that area is empty

I like the overall idea. in CA, I don’t love the idea of any tall shelving that has no lip. A decent size earthquake and you don’t know what’s tumbling down on you from up there.

when you need spring tension or replacement you need to remove it. The tension tool is 18" long and needs to rotate

Once you put stuff up there, you’ll never use it again too much of a hassle having to drag out the ladder then hopefully nobody opens the door. 👍👍👍

Becareful blocking the springs on your doors. You’re going to make the labor go up on your next repair. I love the idea of these when it’s executed properly. But I do charge more for liability and risk in some of your houses
