“Noah!
“Noah!" I screamed, but Carter slammed his weight against my shoulder, dragging me back through the gap in the chain-link fence. “We have to go! Right now!" Carter yelled, his hands shaking so violently he almost dropped his flashlight. “We can't leave him!" Elise sobbed, her fingers digging desperately into my arm. On the other side of the fence, Noah was motionless. His eyes were wide, bloodshot, and completely unblinking, fixed on the empty space ahead. He was still sitting on the swing, moving back and forth with a slow, agonizing rhythm.  Creeeeak. Creeeeak. Behind him stood the dark, silhouette-like figure of a child. It had no face—just a dense, blurring shadow. Its tiny, impossibly cold hands were pressed flat against Noah's back, pushing him higher and higher.  Noah’s head snapped toward us with an unnatural, sickening jerk. His mouth opened, but his own voice was gone. What came out was a raspy, wet child’s voice, echoing straight through Noah’s lips: "He said if I get off, I’ll end up under the slide with him." BANG. The cracked plastic of the tunnel slide split wide open with a deafening CRACK. Carter’s flashlight beam flickered violently, spattering like a dying candle, before cutting out completely.  Total, pitch-black darkness swallowed us whole.  The swinging stopped. The air grew so freezing cold that every breath burned our throats.  In the absolute silence, right next to where I stood against the fence, I heard a slow, dragging sound.  SCRRRRRRRRATCH. Fingernails scraping against the rusted wire.  Before I could move, a tiny, icy hand reached through the gap and pressed flat against the back of my neck. My skin instantly went dead numb. A whisper, hot and sour, breathed directly into my ear: "Tag. You're it." We ran. We sprinted blindly through the blacked-out streets, our feet pounding against the pavement, not daring to look back. We didn't stop until we reached Carter's house, hurling ourselves inside and slamming the heavy front door shut, throwing every lock into place.  We collapsed on the entry rug, chests heaving, shivering uncontrollably in the dark hallway. Then my phone buzzed in my pocket. 1 New Notification: Front Porch Camera. With trembling hands, I unlocked the screen and opened the live video feed. Standing directly under the porch light was Noah. He was standing completely still, staring blankly straight into the camera lens. Beside him on the porch steps, sat the small shadow, its head tilted as if waiting. A text message from Noah’s phone popped up on the screen right below the video: "He says you're terrible at this game. Come outside and hide." ##fyp##viral##scarystories##scarytiktoks##scary
