@the.silent.huddle: In 2024, Atlanta handed Kirk Cousins a $180 million contract to become its franchise quarterback. Six weeks later, the Falcons drafted Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick. Less than a year later, Cousins had lost his starting job. Fast forward to 2026. He’s now in Las Vegas, where he led the Raiders to a 3-0 start and threw nine touchdowns in his first three games. But there’s a twist. The Raiders already drafted their quarterback of the future, Fernando Mendoza, with the No. 1 overall pick. And after today’s blowout loss to New England, Mendoza made his NFL debut. Cousins has now found himself in two situations where a franchise invested in him while preparing for someone younger. At 38 years old, is Kirk Cousins proving he still belongs as an NFL starter, or is history about to repeat itself? #KirkCousins #NFL #Raiders #AtlantaFalcons #footballtiktok
