TINUBU ASKS NIGERIANS FOR ANOTHER CHANCE: GIVE US MORE TIME TO FINISH THE WORK President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to give his administration more time to complete its reforms, insisting that the government is working to correct the mistakes and missed opportunities of previous administrations. The appeal was conveyed on September 25, 2026, by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, during a special Juma’at prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja, organised as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary. According to the message, Tinubu urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the country, expressing confidence that peace, development and economic recovery would improve as his administration continued its programmes. The President maintained that Nigeria was on the right path and called for continued support to enable his government to complete what it described as the good work already started. In his Independence Day address on October 1, Tinubu also defended his administration’s economic reforms, pointing to improvements in economic growth, foreign reserves and non-oil exports. He acknowledged, however, that many Nigerians were still struggling with the cost of living and that the benefits of reform needed to reach ordinary citizens more directly. BUT THE BIG QUESTION REMAINS: ARE NIGERIANS READY TO GIVE HIM MORE TIME? While the government argues that its reforms are laying the foundation for long-term prosperity, many Nigerians continue to face concerns over food prices, transportation costs, employment, insecurity and the pressure on household incomes. For families struggling to afford basic necessities, the promise of future prosperity must translate into tangible improvements in their daily lives. As Nigeria approaches another presidential election, the debate over Tinubu’s record, his economic policies and his request for continued support is likely to remain central to the national conversation. What do you think? Should Nigerians give President Tinubu more time to complete his reforms, or should the government be judged by the results Nigerians are experiencing today? Drop your opinion in the comments. Let’s have a respectful discussion. 🇳🇬 Follow BuzzingNest for more Nigerian news, politics and trending stories.
