Former submariner here. Another HUGE piece to this which brings even more questions: What did they do with the carbon dioxide they were breathing out? On a submarine we have to make our own oxygen, but the bigger risk is carbon dioxide poisoning. Because the rate at which the human body creates carbon dioxide is more of a concern than oxygen levels interestingly enough. So the question then is: where was their carbon dioxide going that they were breathing out? It's not like they can get fresh air from the outside, there is no air on the moon. so what were they using to remove the carbon dioxide?

About 7 years ago, I read some comments from a guy who supposedly worked for one of the 3 biggest hydraulics companies in the world. And he claimed that the technology did not exist for hydraulics to work in space... as NASA apparently somehow makes it work. He also claimed the ISS would require at least 4 maintenance staff members to keep the hydraulics working. He said he and his engineers look at the NASA claims and just shake their heads in disbelief. IDK, but I did think it was interesting.

Incorrect analysis. The PLSS were constructed of Al, Steel, plastic and Cu. The CSM were made of Ni-sreel alloy; LM was made of light Al. CSM O2 tanks (2)@320lbs, PLSS 1.2lbs each (4hrs/lunar walk); LM 48lbs.

It took me 5 seconds to learn that they used pure oxygen at 5 psi. They stopped using 60/40 after the capsule fire 👍🏻
