@oniichanhq: Martin Star Thomas Mikal Ford Sadly Passed Away Ten Years Ago Today at Just 52 🕊️ Tommy may have famously “never had a job” on Martin, but Thomas Mikal Ford built a career that reached far beyond that running joke. As Thomas “Tommy” Strawn, Ford became the level-headed member of Martin Payne’s circle and remained part of the sitcom throughout its five-season run. The character became so beloved that the jokes about Tommy’s mysterious employment status are still immediately recognizable to fans decades later. Ford also showed a very different side as Lt. Malcolm Barker on New York Undercover, played Nikki Parker’s father Mel Parker on The Parkers, and appeared across sitcoms, dramas, films, and animation. Some of his memorable roles include: - Thomas “Tommy” Strawn (Martin) - Lieutenant Malcolm Barker (New York Undercover) - Mel Parker (The Parkers) - Tommy Smalls (Harlem Nights) - Mink (Class Act) - Mr. Webb (The Proud Family) — voice - Lamar Collins (A Different World) - Michael Edwards (Living Single) - Marcus (The Jamie Foxx Show) - Coach Walsh (Across the Tracks) - Lubin (Q & A) - Payday (Nasty Boys) - Elliot Cotrell (The Flash) - Concasseur (MacGyver) - Harry Pincher (Law & Order) Ten years later, Tommy Strawn remains one of those sitcom characters who can instantly transport viewers back to the 1990s, while Ford’s wider résumé shows just how much more there was to the actor behind him. 🕊️ #thomasmikalford #newyorkundercover
